Michael Jackson

in 1993 i was working with my partner and wife gay lawrence on ”the pagemaster” and one day, studio head david kirschner was giving a tour to michael jackson (we were also involved in a project with him) and i heard them talking two doors down from my office. So i got out and walked up to them and had the opportunity to shake hands with him. michael was walking around the studio with a kid that was dressed like a little version of the king of pop. months later that kid was on the news and the first scandal broke out. that was a sad time for the entertainment industry, as we all loved michael and his music had reigned the 80’s.

The first drawing i did is the one where you can see just the hair and the glasses, i guess that was fueled by my excitement the day after the meeting. the second drawing i did after the scandal broke out months later.

The VERSUS Series!

This series is all done with enamel and oil paint pens, all these are done in a freeflowing style without sketching or preparation of any kind. I just sare at a piece of paper and GO! In this case most paper used is water-color paper.
